If you are coming to Osaka, you cannot miss Dotonbori! It is the most iconic symbol of the city, filled with vibrant neon lights and incredible energy. This area is the heart of Osaka’s “Kuidaore” (eat until you drop) culture, where you can find endless restaurants and street food stalls.

I tried “Takoyaki Kukuru”. It was delicious!

    Kushikatsu (Deep-fried Skewers)

Local Story: The “Golden Dragon” Episode

Kinryu Ramen is a famous spot with a giant golden dragon on the building.

      Kinryu

When I first visited Dotonbori, my friend took me here, saying, “This is the ramen of Dotonbori!” I love the chaotic atmosphere and the street-stall style interior.

Did you know? In 2024, the dragon’s tail was actually “cut off” because it was sticking out into the neighbor’s property! Afterward, a tear was added to the dragon’s eye to show it was crying. Later, the cut-off tail even appeared at a nearby giant crab shop for a limited time. Such a great sense of humor!

      How to Get There

      • Access: A 5-minute walk from Namba Station.

      Quick Tips for Travelers

      • Avoid the Crowds: Popular restaurants get very busy. I recommend entering early (around 5:00 PM) to avoid long lines!
      • Night View: The neon lights are most beautiful after 6:00 PM.
      • Cash: Many street food stalls only accept cash, so make sure to carry some coins!

If you want to try more fresh seafood, visit Kuromon Market, which is only a 10-minute walk from here!
